Elementary School Treble Festival

This event is open to unchanged voices in grades 4, 5, and 6. Students will prepare the music ahead of time with their elementary school music teachers prior to the event. The day of the event will include sectionals and rehearsals of the concert repertoire, with a concert in the evening at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the Great Hall stage.

REGISTRATION
- $30 registration fee includes: participation, t-shirt, and supper.
- NOTE: each music teacher eats supper at no charge (one adult per school)
- Parking Pass: $5.00 (1 per teacher) - buses do not need a pass
- Each teacher may bring a maximum of 15 students. If a teacher instructs a choir at two different elementary schools, then the maximum may be extended to 20 student participants for that teacher/instructor. The festival choir is limited to 220 total singers -- so do not delay to register!
- Registration deadline is March 18. No refunds will be issued after March 19.

- 1:15 p.m. - FULL REHEARSAL - Great Hall
- 2:30 p.m. - BREAK
- 2:45 p.m. - Special Performance
- 3:15 p.m. - FULL REHEARSAL - Great Hall
- 4:30 p.m. - BREAK
- 4:45 p.m. - DRESS REHEARSAL / Run Through - Great Hall
- 5:30 p.m. - Supper Break / Prep for Concert

Policies

- Expectations for participants:
- Each singer will be able to match pitch with a high level of accuracy
- Each singer will prepare and learn music prior to arrival at event
- Each singer will bring a folder with individual original copies of each selection
- Each singer will have a pencil in their individual folder
- Each singer will participate with a positive attitude throughout the day
- Expectations for teachers:
- Each singer will be chaperoned by his/her classroom music teacher throughout every rehearsal and at every moment of the day
- At NO TIME should a student be unsupervised
- Each teacher may provide snacks for BREAK times throughout the afternoon
- Each teacher is responsible for any/all belongings that students/singers bring to GBPAC
- Each teacher may utilize a general bag/backpack for all of your singers’ belongings (example: medications, personal hygiene necessities, cell phones)
What to Bring/What to Leave at Home
There will not be secure, locked facilities for storage of any items.
- Please bring:
- folders / music / pencil
- water bottle (with name/school labeled)
- Please do not bring:
- valuable items
- schoolwork
- technology (iPad, laptop, etc.)
- bags, backpacks
Attire
Each singer will wear comfortable clothing. Concert attire will include the festival t-shirts.
- Bottoms: each singer will wear jeans or khaki pants for rehearsals and performances
- Tops: each singer will receive a t-shirt at registration to wear throughout the day and performance
- Shoes: each singer will wear comfortable shoes for rehearsals and performance (low heels, please). Tennis shoes are very appropriate.
