Festivals, workshops and camps at the UNI School of Music offer a window into our workings. Whether you're interested in a master class feel where you can get hands-on experience with your instrument and our amazing faculty, or you'd like to sit back and listen to some of our most talented ensembles and performers, our festivals and special events will offer an opportunity that is right for you.

UNI Bass Jamboree

An online event for bassists will be held virtually this year.

Vocal Arts Festival

UNI Flute Day

Panther Band Day

WRC and UNI Dome

Panther Band Day is ideal for entire marching bands or individual high school band students in grades 9-12. Our goal is to create an outstanding, positive, and friendly musical and social experience for high school band students! We hope you will enjoy the fellowship with other band students throughout the state and the fantastic performance of a massive band, playing to one of the most appreciative audiences in the country! The UNI Music Education Day is designed for juniors and seniors in high school who are considering a career in music education working as an elementary music specialist, middle school/high school choir teacher, or middle school/high school band teacher. Northern Festival of Bands

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR SPRING 2021. Please join us next year! 

The Northern Festival of Bands is an annual honor band festival open to high school band students which typically hosts over 40 schools and over 250 individual students in a weekend long event. This year the festival will be held February 11-13, 2021. The event will feature performances by the UNI Wind Ensemble and UNI Symphonic Band on Friday evening as well as Saturday afternoon’s performance featuring solo competition winners, the festival’s percussionist groups, Festival Concert Band and Festival Symphony Band.

Tallcorn Jazz Festival

The Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the UNI School of Music invite you and your band to the 66th Annual Tallcorn Jazz Festival and  70th Sinfonian Dimensions in Jazz Concerts to be held on February 18 and 19, 2021, on the UNI campus. For more information, click here

Women Sing! Women's Chorus Festival

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR SPRING 2021. Please join us next year!  

Women Sing is an all-day choral festival open to all high school women.  Join the inclusive community of strong, proud women that make up the UNI Women’s Chorus for the day, connecting with young women from across Iowa as well as faculty members from multiple academic areas at UNI.  The event culminates in an evening performance in the Great Hall at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.
