CANCELLED: Vocal Arts Festival

Due to the wide variety of approaches across the state in dealing with the virus resurgence, we have decided to cancel Vocal Arts Festival for 2021 but look forward to returning to 2022. We are offering a virtual mock All State audition as an alternative. Contact John Wiles if you have quartets that would like to participate! john.wiles@uni.edu.

PMB's Day of Drumming

Join us for the Panther Marching Band’s Day of Drumming on October 16. This event will feature guest artists Matthew Keown and Jeff Stern, former members and world champions of the Blue Devils and Cadets DCI drumlines! Panther Band Day is ideal for entire marching bands or individual high school band students in grades 9-12. Our goal is to create an outstanding, positive, and friendly musical and social experience for high school band students! Northern Festival of Bands

The Northern Festival of Bands is an annual honor band festival open to high school band students which typically hosts over 40 schools and over 250 individual students in a weekend long event. This year the festival will be held February 10-12, 2022. The event will feature performances by the UNI Wind Ensemble and UNI Symphonic Band on Friday evening as well as Saturday afternoon’s performance featuring solo competition winners, the festival’s percussionist groups, Festival Concert Band and Festival Symphony Band.

Tallcorn Jazz Festival

Middle School Treble Festival

This brand new event is open to cis women, trans women and nonbinary treble singers in grades 6-9. Students will have sectionals and rehearsals on the concert repertoire, have a voice masterclass with one of UNI's voice faculty, and have the opportunity to work with members of the Cecilians, UNI's treble ensemble. Women Sing! Women's Chorus Festival

Women Sing is an all-day choral festival open to all high school women.  Join the inclusive community of strong, proud women that make up the UNI Cecilians for the day, connecting with young women from across Iowa as well as faculty members from multiple academic areas at UNI.  The event culminates in an evening performance in the Great Hall at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.
