Summer is a great time to participate in camps and workshops at UNI School of Music! To learn more about our summer offerings, follow the links below. 

Camp Musicmania (Community Music School) - June 9-13, 2025
At Camp Music Mania, campers (1st-8th grade) spend five amazing days engaging in fun activities exploring music, drama, and art. A willingness to learn, be creative, and general silliness is encouraged.

Jazz Combo Camp - June 15-20, 2025
A week-long exploration of jazz music for high school students, including performances, workshops, jam sessions, master classes and more. 

Audio Engineering for Educators - June 23-24, 2025
Audio Engineering for Educators is a hands-on workshop designed to help music teachers make the most of audio technology in their classrooms. From sound reinforcement systems to digital recording tools, participants will learn practical skills used by audio engineers to capture high-quality student performances. Whether you're just getting started or looking to refine your setup, this workshop will boost your confidence and creativity with classroom audio tech.

RockShop! Modern Band Workshops - June 25-27, 2025
The RockShop Modern Band Workshops offer two exciting opportunities for music educators to bring student-centered, culturally relevant, and engaging music instruction to their classrooms. RockShop I (June 25–26) introduces the core skills, curriculum, and teaching strategies to start a modern band program at any grade level. RockShop II (June 27) builds on that foundation with advanced tools and approaches. Attend one or both to energize your teaching through popular music.

Panther High School Drum Major, Colorguard, and Leadership Workshop - date TBA
A one-day camp to prepare high school drum majors, colorguard, and student leadership for the fall marching season. 

Cedar Valley Chamber Music Camp - July 20-25, 2025
In partnership with the UNI School of Music, Cedar Valley Chamber Music will host a summer music camp that explores the art of chamber music. Open to students entering grades 6- 12, the goals of the camp are to improve fundamental skills in string playing, learn the basics of chamber music rehearsing/performing, and make some friendships in the process. At least one year of continual involvement in instrumental study on violin, viola, cello, or double bass is a prerequisite for this camp. Contact Erik.Rohde@uni.edu for more information. 

Amp Camp - July 20-24, 2025
Amp Camp is a one-week summer music camp where kids and teens of all abilities form bands, write original songs and perform the music they love—rock, pop, country, hip hop, and more. Focused on creativity, collaboration and fun, no experience is needed. Everyone gets the chance to play, sing and create together. The week concludes with a live outdoor concert in downtown Cedar Falls, where campers share their music with the community.
