The Master of Arts in Music degree is best suited for those wishing to tailor a more academic degree in music to their specifications.
Our internationally-known faculty, outstanding facilities (including four performance halls and two state-of-the-art buildings), and small student to faculty ratio allow for a highly-specialized educational experience and extraordinary leadership opportunities for our every student.
Applicants should possess the baccalaureate degree in music or a demonstrated equivalent. Prospects should have attained a high degree of proficiency in one or more of the following areas: performance, theory-composition, music education, or music history. Applicants must audition in person in their applied specialization (an audio/video recording would be accepted if the in-person audition would pose undue hardship).

Requirements for Admission
- Bachelor's degree in Music or a demonstrated equivalent
- Resume or CV
- Two letters of recommendation
- 2.75 is the minimum GPA to be accepted without provision; applicants with a GPA lower than 2.75 may still be admitted provisionally, at the discretion of the program and the Graduate College
- Personal Statement of Goals/Objectives
- Complete the School of Music Graduate Studies Application form
- Submit your audition video.

Along with the basic application requirements, international applicants also need:
- Proof of English proficiency
- A copy of the personal data page of your passport
- A completed UNI Financial Statement and Certification form
