Opera
UNI Opera and Musical Theatre has an exciting season ahead!
From vocal performance majors to music education majors, from music technology majors to non-majors in every discipline, undergraduate and graduate students alike develop and hone their performing skills side by side on stage in the UNI Opera and Musical Theatre Ensemble.
We invite students to engage in the creative and collaborative process of performing both historic masterworks and modern compositions, whether their goals are to pursue a performing career, become a skilled and knowledgeable educator, or to enjoy a musical life journey in any number of other ways. Mentored by faculty and guest artists who are active performers and outstanding pedagogues, the ensemble continues to build upon a tradition of excellence in bringing this vibrant art form to both students and the community at large. Each year brings new opportunities, ranging from full opera or musical productions in collaboration with the Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra to chamber works, scenes programs, concerts, and outreach events. Join us!
Auditions are held every fall and at other times during the school year. For more information on auditions, click here.
