The Master of Music in Music Education provides exceptional graduate-level training in music education for public school music teachers, and prepares students for the possibility of doctoral study in music education.
This program allows you to enhance on research skills and knowledge, learn about the most current trends in today’s music education field, and to develop comprehensive knowledge of music through study of music theory, history and analysis within the Graduate Music Core.
We offer on-campus and online learning options. For our on-campus students, opportunities for applied study and ensemble participation are also available.

Requirements for Admission
- Equivalent bachelor's degree
- Resume or CV
- Two letters of recommendation
- 2.75 is the minimum GPA to be accepted without provision; applicants with a GPA lower than 2.75 may still be admitted provisionally, at the discretion of the program and the Graduate College
- Personal Statement of Goals/Objectives
- Complete the School of Music Graduate Studies Application form
- Submit your online evaluation or interview.
Requirements for International Applicants
Along with the basic application requirements, international applicants also need:
- Proof of English proficiency
- A copy of the personal data page of your passport
- A completed UNI Financial Statement and Certification form
- Non-refundable application fee.
