Music Education Comprehensive Examination Request Form

Students in the MM Music Education Distance Learning Program may use this form to register. 

Students in all other graduate music degree programs (MA Music, MM Performance, MM Music History, MM Composition, MM Conducting, MM Piano Pedagogy, MM Jazz Pedagogy) who wish to take comprehensive exams off campus should use this form, AFTER obtaining permission from the Graduate Coordinator. Comprehensive exams are offered via distance ONLY for students with extenuating circumstances. If you are a full time, on campus student taking comps in your final semester of study, you may generally not use this option. Please contact Dr. Bradfield for information.

Examination Deadlines:

  • For fall exams: Submit application by October 20, 2023. Exams taken on or by November 4, 2023.
  • For spring exams: Submit application by March 29, 2024. Exam taken on or by April 13, 2024.  
  • For summer exams: Submit application by July 26, 2024. Exam taken on or by August 11, 2024. Summer exams are ONLY available for students who have applied for summer graduation.

Proctor Information:

You are responsible for making all examination arrangements and paying any fees at the examination site. Examinations must be completed under the direct supervision of an APPROVED proctor.
 

  • Examination requires access to a public computer with online access, a web browser, and audio speakers or headphones.
  • Acceptable testing locations may include computers in a library, computer lab, school office or similar.
  • Proctors may be a school superintendent, school principal, testing center, college official or public library official.
  • Proctors may not be a person that employs, supervises or is a relative of the student.
