Music Education
The Music Education program at UNI is known for its excellence in teacher preparation regarding the quality and level of musicianship, the extensive field experiences in local schools prior to the student teaching semesters, and the breadth of educational coursework in the College of Education. The placement/employment rate for UNI's music education graduates has been at 100 percent for decades, providing teaching jobs in hundreds of Iowa schools as well as throughout the United States.

UNI’s Music Education degree programs offer applied study with faculty who regularly perform around the world, ensemble performances with excellent conductors, and teacher preparation with music educators who are known for their excellence in methodology and pedagogy. In addition, field experiences in area schools provide the preservice teachers with teaching, learning, conducting, rehearsing, and classroom management in practical situations within the context of the music classrooms.
