Flute Day
October 19, 2024
Join Dr. Hannah Porter-Occeña and the University of Northern Iowa Flute Studio for UNI Flute Day. This year's event will focus on taking the "scary" out of piccolo playing, and is intended for any flutist (no piccolo required)!
Featuring guest artist Dr. Elizabeth Robinson, Assistant Professor of Flute at South Dakota State University and Piccoloist of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, the day will include Iowa All-State Mock Auditions, mini-lessons with Dr. Occeña, color flute instrument demos, a guest artist masterclass, and a final concert featuring Dr. Robinson, Dr. Porter-Occeña and the UNI Flute Ensemble.
New this year: Band Director in-person and Zoom mini-workshop on getting your students started on piccolo!
