Graduate Student Orientation

An orientation is held in the week prior to the fall semester for incoming graduate students. 

All exams and meetings will be held in Russell Hall #116. For more information, contact music@uni.edu. ​Please register EARLY (at least three weeks prior to exam date). Late registration will be granted only under extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of the the graduate exam committee and/or the graduate coordinator.

Thursday, August 22, 2024 - Russell Hall 

  • 9:00-9:30 a.m. Welcome Session: All NEW Music Graduate Students (Room 116)
  • 9:30-11:30 a.m. First-year Graduate Student Orientation meeting (all new students) (Room 116)
  • 10:30 AM MANDATORY MEETING – all new and returning graduate students (Room 116) 
    Graduate Assistant meeting will be held immediately following the mandatory meeting;
    all new and returning graduate assistants are required to attend.
  • 12:00 p.m. Lunch (on your own)
  • 1:45 p.m. Diction diagnostic (all new vocal students) (Room 116)
  • 2-4:30 p.m. Advising Appointments for new and returning students (non-vocalists only) (Office 163)

DIAGNOSTIC EXAMINATIONS
New voice students must take a diction diagnostic Thursday, August 22 at 1:45 p.m.
