Lesson Registration - Academic Year

The UNI Community Music School accepts new students throughout the year. We're happy you're here!
  • If registering after the academic year has started, students will receive a pro-rated tuition amount. 
  • Those making monthly payments will pay the pro-rated cost for the first month, followed by monthly payments that match the payment options listed on the pricing sheet. 
  • A 10% discount is available to current New Horizons Band members.  Please contact unicommunitymusic@uni.edu for pricing.

Fall

September 1 - December 21, 2024

  • week of September 1: Individual and Group Lessons begin as scheduled
  • November 24-30: Fall Break - No lessons
  • December 7-8: CMS Fall Recital Weekend

Spring

January 21 - May 16, 2025

  • week of January 21: Individual and Group Lessons begin as scheduled
  • week of January 21: Group piano lessons begin as scheduled
  • March 16-22: Spring Break - No Lessons
  • May 3-4: CMS Spring Recital Weekend

Summer

June 1 - August 23, 2025

  • week of June 1: Summer Lessons start
  • TBD: CMS Summer Recital Day

Lesson Registration Information

  • If you are a NEW student to the Community Music School, you will be contacted within 5 business days after submitting the lesson registration, by email, to discuss lesson scheduling and teachers. 
  • Students are placed with an instructor based on the order of enrollment and availability of the instructor.  
  • If you are a RETURNING student from the summer, your teacher will contact you for scheduling. 
Music should last a lifetime!

Payment Information

  • Academic year lessons are 30 weeks.
  • Students can register at any time throughout the year. 
  • The Community Music School employees teachers of varying experiences.

    • UNI Student (pursuing Bachelor degree) indicated by a *
    • Studio Teacher (has earned undergraduate degree or comparable experience) indiciated by a #
    • Master Teacher (has earned a graduate degree or comparable experience) indicated by a @

     

Payment Information

  • The first payment will be pro-rated based on the date of the first lesson, if starting after the first week of scheduled Academic year lessons.
  • You can view a general price list for all of our instructors. 
  • *A 10% discount is available to current UNI New Horizons Band members.  Please contact unicommunitymusic@uni.edu for pricing.
  • After completing the Registration Form, within two business days, you will receive an email from unicommunitymusic@uni.edu with a Recurring Payment Form to be signed and returned to UNI before starting lessons.
  • Payments will be auto-withdrawn on the first of every month while enrolled in lessons.
  • If you elect to make a one-time lesson payment, you will be emailed a payment link, to be completed before starting lessons.
  • If you wish to apply for a financial aid, please complete the Financial Aid Application (< click on the link and your browser will open an additional window) AND lesson registration.

If you are interested in helping to financially support a student's lessons with CMS, you can make a donation at the UNI Foundation and select account 212456 or 222126.  Your donation is greatly appreciated and needed as we work to make music lessons accessible for all members of our community.  Any amount is welcomed!
