Music Lessons
Music Should Last a Lifetime!
Music lessons usually involve a one-on-one interaction with student and teacher, or instruction taught to a group of students. Private lessons and classes typically meet once a week to review past material and learn new skills.
- Do you want to learn to play every Christmas song ever written? Great!
- Are you looking for guidance on how to play in your church's praise band? We got you!
- Are you wanting to become involved in area ensembles, like The Metropolitan Chorale? Your teacher can help guide you!
Discovering music is a lifelong adventure!
- Our teachers are passionate about teaching and music! We believe that music should be accessible to everyone and work their best to meet each student where they are on their musical journey.
- CMS teachers enjoy working with each of their students, regardless of what musical path a student is pursuing.
- CMS employs a combination of teachers who are professional performers and educators, as well as student teachers who are currently pursuing a degree in music at the University of Northern Iowa School of Music.
- All CMS teachers have successfully passed a criminal background check.
- Payment for Community Outreach Programs should be registered and paid for through their respective program. This is the only way to ensure that you are taking lessons with a qualified instructor who has been approved by the University of Northern Iowa School of Music. Please note that teaching privately within UNI School of Music facilities, outside a UNI Community Outreach Program violates university policy.
