Student & Family Information Hub

Dear Students, Families, fellow Musicians!

Welcome to the Community Music School - We’re so glad you’re here! Whether this is your very first music class or you’ve been playing for years, you are now part of a vibrant, creative, and supportive musical community. You have found a place where you can learn, explore, perform, and grow—not only as a musician, but as a person.

Here, you’ll discover opportunities to deepen your skills, try new things, and express yourself through music. You’ll work with caring and talented teachers and directors who are passionate about helping you reach your goals. You’ll meet new people who share your interests, and many of those connections will turn into friendships that last far beyond your time with us.

We believe that music should be fun, inspiring, and accessible to everyone. Whether you dream of performing onstage, playing in an ensemble, improving your technique, or simply enjoying the experience of making music, there is a place for you here.

We can’t wait to see what you create, who you become, and how your musical journey unfolds.

Take a look around our website, explore different musical opportunities, and meet our teachers and staff.

Welcome to the family—let’s make something amazing together and have fun!

Warmly,

Heather Hamilton

Director, UNI Community Music School

Find Your Musical Path

I Want to Learn How to Play an Instrument

Music Lessons and Classes may be the right path for you!

  • Are you a child, teen, or adult?

    • Yes! (we all are, honestly) - Music Lessons can be a good path for you. Teachers will meet their students where they are at and support them on their musical goals.

  • I want to learn the piano
    • I'm an adult - The Group Piano Classes for Adults might be a good place for you. This class meets in a piano lab and there is equal focus on learning and encouraging others in your class.
    • I'm a kid (specifically 4 - 7 years old) - Music for Little Mozarts is a great place to start! This is a group class for the absolute beginner. With friends, you will learn about basic reading skills and the piano.
