Choral Music Education events at UNI are open to singers of all ages. Regardless of where you are on your musical path, we'd love to see you and sing with you at an educational event soon. Browse the offerings below, and let us know if you have any questions!
All-State Vocal Summit
WHO IS IT FOR? The UNI All-State Vocal Summit is designed to give your singers extra tools and encouragement in a supportive, high-level environment. Students will rehearse and perform the All-State repertoire with peers from across Iowa, while also receiving feedback in guided mock auditions run by our choral education majors. In addition, the UNI Voice Faculty will offer mini-lessons and targeted guidance on difficult passages within the All State repertoire.
Music Career Day
WHO IS IT FOR? UNI Music Career Day is designed for juniors and seniors in high school who are considering a career in music. This free event will include informational breakout sessions on various music careers and the programs at UNI that can lead you to them. Participants will also have the chance to sit in on classes in their chosen area of focus, visit ensemble rehearsals including Choirs, Jazz Band Combo, Orchestra, and Panther Marching Band, meet with current students, and experience first-hand what it might be like to be a music major in college.
Treble Voices Festival
WHO IS IT FOR? The UNI Treble Voices Festival brings together the long-running We Sing Festival and the Middle School Treble Festival for a shared day celebrating treble choral singing, open to grades 6-12. While each festival maintains its own distinct structure and educational experiences, singers will gather at the end of the day for a collaborative culminating concert featuring participants from across both events.
