Mixed Voice Choir Auditions

Admission to the University of Northern Iowa's mixed voice choirs is by audition and is open to students from all majors.

Auditions will be held Friday, August 21 through Monday, August 24 in the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. Directional signs will be posted to help you find the audition room.

Voice Majors, Voice Minors, Returning Choralers, and Panther Music Award Recipients

An audition time has been assigned for you.

If your assigned time presents a conflict, you are welcome to exchange times with another student or contact Dr. Wiles by August 15 to request a different time.

Graduate students should contact Dr. Wiles directly to arrange an audition.

What to Expect

Auditions are brief (approximately eight minutes) and designed to help us find the best ensemble for your voice.

You are welcome to sing:

• A prepared art song or aria (a collaborative pianist will be provided), or
• My Country, 'Tis of Thee if you do not have a prepared selection.

We'll also spend a few minutes on:

• Vocalization
• A brief sight-reading exercise
