- Receive quality music education by trained music educators in violin, viola, cello, guitar, with the following benefits:
- Weekly individual lessons
- Weekly group activities
- Two performance class sessions per year (pre-recital master classes)
- Receive the expertise of all of our teachers. Teachers work in a collaborative setting and meet regularly to discuss issues and teaching points. Besides the child’s individual lesson, teacher and group teacher, other teachers may be involved including performance class teacher, recital leaders and concert leaders & assistants. Students also may receive opportunities to work with guest teachers and UNI faculty in master class settings.
- Receive music theory instruction that is ongoing with regular evaluations of student progress.
- Participate in varied performance opportunities including:
- Two solo recital opportunities per year
- Annual large group performance per year
- Numerous outreach performance opportunities
- Have access to:
- Music related materials
- Lending library which includes books (fiction and non-fiction), recordings (symphonic, solo-both student and professional, documentary and music related films.
- Instructional aids, practice tips, shifting guides, scales, etc. are also available
- Instruments (violin, viola, cello, guitar) with low cost per month rent.
- Receive practice encouragement with contests, incentives and practice advice.
- May participate in optional chamber music ensembles with regular sessions with ensemble coach
