Colorguard Auditions

The UNI Panther Marching Band Colorguard consists of up to 30 seasoned spinners, performing five different shows throughout the fall football season.  PMB's Colorguard is a great way to continue your love of performing after high school!  All performances take place inside the 17,000 seat UNI-DOME in front of the most energetic audiences in college football!  Join the PMB in 2024 with for yet another exciting and special season. In 2024 we will have the special opportunity to perform in the 2024-2025 London New Year's Day Parade in London, England! Check back often as we build our performance schedule to see what opportunities await!

If accepted into the Colorguard, you will need to register for the PMB. Registration for the 2024 PMB will open during the Spring semester. In the meantime, learn more about the PMB here!

Bands

Prepare for the Audition

There are two different ways to audition: You can either do live audition with current members or submit a video. Regardless of how you audition, please prepare the following:

  1. Flag Warm-Up: Available here, and includes instructional video and full run of the warm-up to “Let Go” by Dean Lewis.
  2. A 1:30-2:00 prepared solo that demonstrates three tosses:
  • Parallel
  • 45
  • Vertical

The music for the solo is The Incredibles, and is available here. You can choose any part of the song. You may optionally include rifle work if you wish.

How to Audition

1. LIVE AUDITION

Saturday, March 2, 2024: 9am – 2pm, Nielsen Field House on the UNI Campus

  1. Performing the Flag Warm-Up Routine and Prepared Solo as described above.
  2. A routine taught by UNI Colorguard Instructor

2. SUBMIT AN AUDITION VIDEO

Please register as soon as possible so we know to expect your video by July 1, 2024. 

All new members will be notified by July 15 if they have been accepted into the Panther Marching Band Colorguard.
