Violin Festival

This hands-on workshop for violin players will include master classes for high school and collegiate level students, workshops, a guest recital and group rehearsal and performance of Alex Lamotte’s Countryside Rigadoon (originally premiered by TwoSet Violin). Participants will also have the option to sign up for a 15-minute lesson with Dr. Ryder or guest artist Robin Scott. The festival will be held in Russell Hall on the UNI campus.   • 9:30-10:00 am: Registration (Russell Hall lobby)
  • 10:00-10:30:  Welcome/Group warmup (Graham Hall)
  • 10:30-11:00:  Recital (Bengtson Auditorium)
  • 11:15-12:15:  Masterclass (Bengtson Auditorium)
  • 12:15-12:45:  Lunch (Russell Hall lobby)
  • 12:45-2:30: Workshops (various locations)
  • 2:45-3:30: Group rehearsal and performance (Bengtson Auditorium) 

About our Guest Artist

Robin Scott, an award-winning musician described as one of America’s rising stars on the classical music stage, has built a varied career as a soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster. He has competed internationally, winning first prizes in the California International Young Artists Competition and the WAMSO Young Artist Competition in Minnesota, and second prizes in the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, the Irving M. Klein International String Competition, and the Stulberg International String Competition.
