Emily with bells in the belfry

President, UNI Guild of Carillonneurs

Student Carillonneur

Emily has been a member of the Guild since Fall semester of 2020 and currently serves as our President. Her favorite song to chime is either “Feed the Birds” from Mary Poppins or “Jolly Students” because the first one sounds good on the carillon, but the second one is more challenging and fun to play. Her favorite memory of the campanile is getting to participate in the 2021 Homecoming festivities. She enjoyed seeing the campanile plaza packed and everything being back to a semi-normal celebration. When asked whether she’d want to be a bell or a brick, Emily said she’d rather be a bell for “those overtones.” Her favorite UNI memory is a tie between traveling to Greece with the UNI Varsity Glee Club, or getting to tour her Grandma (who’s a proud alumni) around campus her Freshman year. When she’s not chiming, Emily enjoys accompanying the Varsity Glee Club, singing in the UNI Choirs, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. A fun fact about Emily is that she has a twin sister who sadly doesn’t go to UNI, but still enjoys cheering her on obnoxiously at every concert she can attend. Emily will graduate in the Fall of 2024 with a degree in Choral Music Education.
