Teaching Opportunities

Student playing pianoThe Community Music School at the University of Northern Iowa offers innovative music education

experiences for area youth and adults and provides mentored teaching opportunities for UNI School of Music Students. Students have the opportunity to teach individual and group classes through the Music for Little Mozarts program and lead recreational music making classes for the older beginner through the Piano Pedagogy: Piano Internship course. Students in UNI's Collegiate Chapter through MTNA serve the Cedar Falls/Waterloo community through a community outreach program with EMBARC Iowa in addition to seeking professional experiences and opportunities through presenting research. Graduate Assistantships are offered to qualified applicants who seek to gain experience teaching collegiate group piano classes to music majors and Non-Music Majors and work collaboratively with students in the Student in the School of Music.
