Italy 2024
The Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of faculty artist and conductor Erik Rohde, traveld to Italy, May 19-29, 2024. The orchestra spent time in northern Italy, stopping in Venice, Padua, Cremona and Alba. The group offered a performance at Teatro Aurora in Padua, an exchange concert with Cremona Mousikè at Cortile Palazzo Fodri in Cremona, and two performances featured at the Alba International Music Festival. Sight-seeing on this adventure was truly special, including stops at St. Mark's Square, Doge’s Palace, St. Mark's Basilica, the Verona Arena, Igor Stravinsky’s gravesite, and Museo del Violino (Violin Museum), known for its collection of stringed instruments including those crafted by Antonio Stradivari himself.
