The Waterloo Mother's Chorus is seeking a part-time choir director on Wednesdays from 1-2:30 to run both rehearsals and sing-outs.
Our group was founded in 1938 by the PTA Council of Waterloo and called "The Mother's Singers". Our first concert was in 1940 and the choir had 40 members at that time. Eight years later there were 52 members and the group drafted its first Constitution. In 1949 we became known as the Waterloo Mother's Chorus. Today we sing for clubs, organizations, churches, nursing homes, Day Habilitation facilities and the like. We practice September through May, at 1 p.m. We are a non-profit organization.
You need not be a mother to apply as I have worked as their director for the past two years and am not a mother. It is a small choir, around 14, so this is a great learning opportunity for a young director wanting to get real-world experience.
