UNI Keyboard Festival

PLEASE NOTE: the 2019-20 UNI Keyboard Festival is yet to be announced. Please e-mail music@uni.edu if you'd like to receive information on the 2019-20 festival. 


Events this year will take place in UNI's Russel Hall and the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, UNI. 

We are excited to announce this year's Featured Artist: Vakhtang Kodanashvili

A native of the country of Georgia, and a former pupil of the world renowned Alexander Toradze, Dr. Kodanashvili has won awards in major international competitions and is rapidly building an international reputation.  We are also thrilled to welcome Dr. Kodanashvili to Cedar Falls as the newest member of the UNI Keyboard Faculty.

The tentative schedule for the UNI School of Music Keyboard Festival will be:

SATURDAY

9 - 9:30 a.m.

 

Welcome and mini-Recital with UNI piano students and faculty

10 a.m. - 12 p.m.Piano lessons with UNI faculty
11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Keyboard instrument demo. Professor Randall Harlow will give an informative, hands-on lecture and demonstration of  keyboard instruments, featuring organ, harpsichord, harmonium, celesta, and piano.

12-1 p.m.

Lunch - on your own (all are welcome to join the group traveling to the Piazza Dining Hall in Redeker Center on campus; lunch at Piazza is $10.50 per person)

1-2 p.m.Recital: Featured Artist Vakhtang Kodanashvili
2-4 p.m.Masterclass with Professor Kodanashvili (apply to participate below)

This year's festival is free to all participants! 

 

PARKING:

You may park in the metered lot in the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center Visitor’s Lot (behind the GBPAC) at no charge on Saturdays – do not feed the meter.
