The Sky's the Limit: Flute Beyond High School
Have you ever wondered what playing flute after high school looks like? Join Dr. Hannah Porter Occena, the University of Northern Iowa Flute Studio, and our guest presenters for UNI Flute Day Online to find out!
The 2020 UNI Flute Day, The Sky’s the Limit: Flute Beyond High School, will feature panels about different flute-related career paths with guest artists including international soloist Carol Wincenc, Maestro Kyle Wyle Pickett of the Springfield (MO) and Topeka (KS) Symphonies, and Associate Professor of Flute and retired Air Force flutist Dr. Krista Jobson. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to attend a Q&A session with current UNI flute students, breakout sessions on special topics, the opportunity to take a FREE mini-lesson with Dr. Occena, and a YouTube “Living Room Concert” that YOU can be part of in the UNI Virtual Flute Orchestra.

- 12:30-12:50 pm: Flute Performance Panel with Carol Wincenc
- 1-1:20 pm: Music Education/Conducting Panel with Kyle Pickett and Tara Byrdsong
- 1:40-2 pm: Other Pathways 1 - Music Therapy with Daniel Shineberg
- 2:10-2:30 pm: Other Pathways 2 - Music Management, Music Sales, and Instrument Repair Panel with Linda Schmidt and Tonya Adams
- 2:40-3:10 pm: Music in the Military with Krista Jobson
- 3:15-3:30: Popsicle Panel with UNI Flute Studio
- 3:45-4:15 pm: Break Out Rooms with Guest Artists
