School of Music Welcomes Two New Faculty Members
The School of Music will welcome two new faculty members in 2016-17.
The School of Music will welcome two new faculty members in 2016-17.
The UNI School of Music will be welcoming six new faculty members in 2014-15.
Dr. Heather Peyton has accepted the School of Music's Assistant Professor of Oboe and Music Theory position. Dr. Peyton has a DMA degree from Michigan State University, an Artist Diploma and MM degree from McGill (Montreal) University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University. She is currently serving as a Lecturer at Iowa State University where she maintains an oboe studio, and teaches reed making and liberal arts courses.
Dr. Ann Bradfield has accepted the School of Music's Assistant Professor of Saxophone position. Dr. Bradfield has a DMA degree in Saxophone Performance (with a related field in Wind Conducting), MM degree in Saxophone Performance, and BM in Jazz Studies Performance degree -- all from the University of North Texas. She is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Saxophone and Jazz Studies at Eastern New Mexico University where she maintains a saxophone studio, coaches quartets, directs a jazz ensemble and teaches other jazz courses.
Dr. Alison Altstatt has accepted our Assistant Professor of Musicology/Music History position. Alison has a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of Oregon; M.A. in History from UC Berkeley, and BA in Asian Studies from UC Berkeley. She has served as a guest researcher at the Institut fur Musikwissenschaft Friedrich-Alexander Universtat Erlangen-Nurnberg, Germany. She has Master's Level Certification in Medieval Latin from the University of Toronto Center for Medieval Studies and Level I Certification in Kodaly.
