Dreams
Dreams is a piece written for the UNITuba Ensemble that started as a small idea and gradually grew into a larger work. It includes elements of aleatoric writing which is to evoke a sense of unpredictability, similar to a dream state.
Dreams centers around a recurring call that feels distant in the moment. The piece is characterized by a sense of curiosity and hesitation, longing to move closer to that call; moments that seem to move forward, but never fully arrive.
There is no clear resolution, the music fades away, leaving the listener in a space that feels unsettled, not having a clear answer.
