TriOblique
No strangers to improvising across genres, TriOblique merges the sublime and the idiosyncratic, the obscure and the popular, the subtle and the exaggerated, while remaining disciplined in execution and temperament. The trio finds refuge in the sounds and repertoire of Americana, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Soul, Alternative and a broad swath of contemporary musics. Luke Sanders (guitar), Will Yager (bass), Josh Hakanson (drums) collectively lend their voices to the trio with painstaking care and attentiveness that pulls at the heartstrings, ripples through the veins, and raises the hairs on the back of the neck. Gripping improvisations give way to serene and transcendent group expression of melodies and harmonies that are simultaneously recognizable and also delight in obfuscation. Expect chilling surprise, raucous grooves, and joyous energy throughout each performance.
