Originally from Bettendorf, IA, Patrick Mooney is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Northern Iowa studying instrumental music education and horn performance with Assistant Professor of Instruction in Horn, Dr. Maddy Tarantelli.
While at UNI, Patrick has performed with the UNI Wind Ensemble, Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, UNI Symphonic Band, UNI Jazz Band III, Panther Marching Band, UNI Horn Choir, UNI Community Horn Choir, and the Guild of Carillonneurs. He is also a member of the Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and helps organize the annual Tallcorn Jazz Festival.
Patrick’s professional goal is to become a horn professor and build a welcoming, inclusive, and studious community for musicians of all backgrounds.
Outside of teaching, Patrick enjoys spending time with friends, being outdoors, reading books, and watching movies.
