Megan Bennett

Megan Bennett is in her third year of studies at the University of Northern Iowa where she is pursuing a dual major in Trumpet Performance and Music Education under the instruction of Dr. Randy Grabowski.  At UNI she performs with the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band One, a student led quintet, and is principal trumpet with the UNI Symphony Orchestra.While in high school, she was the winner of the UNI Northern Festival of Bands Concerto Competition, and received an honorable mention in the Waterloo Cedar Falls Symphony Young Artists Concerto Competition. She performed alongside the Fort Dodge Area Symphony as a concerto competition winner.  Megan has also been a featured soloist with the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band and was a finalist in the UNI Concerto Competition this past Fall. Outside of her musical career she enjoys art, reading a good book, and cuddling with her lovely cats. She loves any chance to improve as a musician and strives to better herself through her studies at UNI.
