About the Role We are searching for guest musicians who are willing to play and/or sing during selected Sunday morning services at the Cedar Valley Unitarian Universalists. We are located at 3912 Cedar Heights Drive, Cedar Falls. Sunday services are from 10:00-11:00 a.m. We do not have a pipe organ, but we do have an electric keyboard and a beautiful grand piano! Expectations The guest musician is expected to sing and/or play three congregational hymns and an additional piece (Special Music or Music for Meditation) for the congregation to listen to. Hymn selection is done by the interim music director. Special Music or Music for Meditation can be selected by the guest musician(s) in collaboration with the interim music director. Our church enjoys a wide variety of music, including classical, folk, rock, and jazz. We draw people from many faith traditions, so our music tends to be eclectic. What We Offer The CVUU can pay $100 per Sunday service for one musician, or $150 for two musicians. You can split the honorarium however you like. Our interim music director and pianist is available to accompany soloists and duos, if needed. If she does play with you, she will need to set up a rehearsal on a day before the service, and a warm-up and sound-check on the day of the service.
