Suzanne Bullard

A native of upstate New York, cellist Suzanne Bullard began her formal cello studies at age 11 with the late Rudolf Doblin. Her other principal teachers have included Regina Mushabac, Ann Alton, Andrew Mark, and Jonathan Chenoweth. Suzanne has performed in numerous orchestras and ensembles in Iowa, New York, Massachusetts, and Ohio. Locally, she has been a member of the Waterloo Cedar Falls Symphony since 2002. As a chamber musician, Suzanne has performed in several chamber music series in Iowa and New York, and is a member of the UNI Suzuki Faculty String Quartet.

Suzanne’s Suzuki training was obtained at various summer institutes and workshops around the US with Catherine Walker, Nancy Hair, Carol Tarr, Carey Beth Hockett, and Katherine Wood. Prior to joining the Suzuki School, Suzanne taught privately in New York and Massachusetts, and for the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory Preparatory Division in Berea, Ohio. Additionally, from 2014-2016, Suzanne taught at Wartburg College.

Suzanne joined the faculty of the UNI Suzuki School in January of 2002, and began serving as the school’s director in 2015. She maintains a studio of between 25-30 students ages 3 through adult, teaches group classes, directs the cello choir, and has previously coached chamber ensembles. Suzanne resides in Cedar Falls with her husband Tim, son Elliot, and their cats.
