Music B.A.: Jazz Studies

Jazz has been an integral part of the School of Music for more than 50 years. This nationally recognized program has grown to include several large and small jazz ensembles as well as a full curriculum of jazz studies courses.

On the jazz studies track, in addition to courses in music theory, music history and applied music, students take courses in jazz improvisation, arranging, jazz bands and more.

Our jazz studies majors go on to successful careers as performing musicians, composers, arrangers, jazz historians and more.
