Jennifer LeGarde earned her M.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) in 2017 and is also a candidate for a second M.M. in Music History at UNI (anticipated graduation Spring 2020). While her musical curiosities are wide, her current research centers on German art and music in the early twentieth century – more specifically, a song cycle, titled Die junge Magd (‘The Young Maid’), by Paul Hindemith.
When Jennifer is not teaching music history courses or pursuing her research, she teaches private and group piano lessons at UNI’s Community Music School. Her private studio consists of twenty-four students and she is the instructor of Music Friends, a group class for beginning piano students.
