Floyd Flute Family: A Celebration

Save the date and join us for a celebration May 3-4, 2019.

Flute Studio 1     Flute Studio 2

ANGELEITA FLOYD began teaching at UNI 33 years ago, and has since become a leading light in the flute community worldwide. Thanks to her transformative teaching and musicianship, many of her students have become well-known music educators and artists in their own right, providing an enduring tribute to her effectiveness.  To honor her stellar career, and of course to have a great party, UNI’s School of Music has set aside the first weekend of May, 2019, as a time of shared memories, music making, socializing, and celebrating.

Not only will former students (“Floyd Flute Family”) and friends gather to provide a memorable celebratory weekend, they will be provided with an opportunity to support future UNI music students in their musical and teaching careers. All contributions to the “Floyd Flute Family” festivities will be TRIPLE MATCHED, so that every dollar above and beyond expenses will have three times the effect, continuing her legacy for decades.  (See below for details.)

Please plan on coming to UNI May 3rd and 4th to help celebrate Angeleita’s career and wish her a long and productive second career as an influential teacher and flute scholar.

The Floyd Flute Family (FFF) Celebration Concert is a Triple Match 3X Fundraising Concert for the Flute Studio AND the School of Music. Here’s how it works:
- 1X: All funds contributed to the FFF Celebration Concert will go into a Scholarship/Enhancement Fund for the Flute Studio.
- 2X: The total amount raised for the FFFFund will be matched dollar for dollar by a private donor with those funds going into a separate School of Music Enhancement Fund for Faculty and Students.
- 3X: To make this even more exciting, our College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences Dean Fritch has agreed to match up to $15,000 of the funds raised as well, making it a WIN for the Flute Studio and a WIN+WIN for the School of Music.

All ticket sales proceeds will count toward this triple match fundraising effort! Seating in Bengtson Auditorium is limited, please reserve your tickets now!

In addition to contributing by buying a ticket, please consider these additional contribution options:
$53: buy one concert ticket, and give an additional contribution of $33 in honor of Dr. Angeleita Floyd’s 33 years of service to the Flute Studio, School of Music and University of Northern Iowa.
$100: buy one concert ticket, and give an additional contribution of $80 to become part of the Floyd 100 ~ Special Contributors. If 100 friends contribute $100, we will raise a total of $10,000 for the Flute Studio and that guarantees $20,000 additional for the School of Music.
$$$$: buy one concert ticket, and any additional amount that you generously consider to contribute becomes a triple matched amount.
