Los Llaneros perform traditional folkloric music from the plains (llanos) of Colombia and Venezuela, a genre that has evolved from musical contact between indigenous people and Spanish settlers as far back as the 16th century. Musicians Karin Stein (Colombia), Edgar East (Panama) and Daniel Rojas (Colombia), bring this music to life with traditional instruments including the harp, cuatro, guitar, flute, tiple, quena, maracas and other percussion instruments. The highly syncopated Llanero music is tied to rural areas where they sing about cattle ranching, nature and love. This event is free and open to the public.
