Assistant Adjunct Professor of Music Education

Kelsey Legore is an educator, conductor, and performer based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She holds a BA in Music Education from Luther College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, and a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from Simpson College. While at Luther, Kelsey sang Alto II in the Nordic Choir, performed in numerous shows with Luther College Opera, and was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. She received her foundational conducting training from Dr. Allen Hightower and continued during her graduate studies with Dr. Matthew Oltman and Dr. Tim McMillin. Previously, Kelsey directed choirs at Linn-Mar Excelsior Middle School and Cedar Rapids Prairie High School. She currently teaches a studio of over 30 young singers and pianists, grades K-12, does freelance music-directing work with Theatre Cedar Rapids, and sings and conducts regularly with Vocal Artists of Iowa. She enjoys exploring the world, practicing yoga, cooking/eating good food, doing puzzles and reading books with her partner, Ben, and kiddos, Simon and Jude.
