Assistant Adjunct Professor of Music

Diane Vallentine is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Music at the University of Northern Iowa, teaching courses in music theory, liberal arts core and occasionally private saxophone. She holds a Master of Music degree in Theory  with an emphasis in composition from the University of Kentucky and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Southeast Missouri State University where she earned undergraduate degrees in Music Theory/Composition and Music Education. Diane’s compositions have been performed throughout the Midwest and she has won several awards including First Place in the Music Teacher's National Association  Composition Contest.

Previously, Mrs. Vallentine taught Elementary, Junior High and High School Bands in St. Louis, Missouri and Valmeyer, Illinois. She has performed as a soloist on Saxophone and Flute, including a guest solo concerto performance at the University of Northern Iowa. She has also performed as a solo concerto and faculty recitalist, and as a guest conductor at the University of Wisconsin -Platteville.
