Originally from Bettendorf, IA, Patrick Mooney is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Northern Iowa studying instrumental music education under the tutelage of Assistant Professor of Instruction in Horn, Dr. Maddy Tarantelli.
While at UNI, Patrick has performed with the UNI Wind Ensemble, Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, UNI Symphonic Band, UNI Jazz Band III, the Panther Marching Band, the UNI Horn Choir, the UNI Community Horn Choir, and the Guild of Carillonneurs. He also currently serves as President of the Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and helps organize the annual Tallcorn Jazz Festival.
Patrick’s professional goal is to become a horn professor and build a welcoming, inclusive, and studious community for musicians of all backgrounds.
Outside of teaching, Patrick enjoys spending time with friends and family and likes to run and bike outdoors. Additionally, he is an avid sports fan with favorite teams including the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks.
