Kate Wilken is a junior at the University of Northern Iowa, double majoring in Music Performance (saxophone) and Computer Science. Originally from Huxley, Iowa, she currently studies classical saxophone with Dr. Ann Bradfield and has performed in the UNI Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and multiple saxophone quartets.

Kate began playing saxophone in 8th grade—later than many of her peers—and quickly discovered the value of hard work and focused practice. In high school, jazz band sparked her love for the instrument, and she has been passionate about music ever since. Outside of music, Kate enjoys hiking in national parks and has been to 34 states. Her lifelong goal is to visit all 50 states.

Kate is excited to offer saxophone lessons to students of all levels. She focuses on helping each student develop their skills and confidence, whether they are just beginning or working toward advanced goals. She hopes to inspire a lifelong love for music in each of her students.
