Jacob Chaplin

Jacob Chaplin is a senior pursuing a double major in bass trombone performance and music composition. As a classical musician he has performed with the UNI Symphonic Band, the Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, and the UNI Wind Ensemble. In jazz he has performed with UNI Jazz Bands I and III as well as the UNI Jazz Slides. In the chamber space, Jacob has performed with the UNI Trombone Choir and UNI Trombone Quartet. As a composer, Jacob has a special interest in writing for chamber ensembles and soloists. He currently specializes in writing for woodwind and brass instruments, but plans to broaden his skill set to strings and percussion in the coming semesters.
