All State Strings Workshop

The UNI All State Strings Workshop will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021.

The registration deadline for this year is Thursday, September 30th.

Participation is free, but advanced registration is required.

2021 information coming soon! See below for 2020 information.

Join us this year for an all-virtual All-State Strings Workshop! Featuring our new Director of Orchestral Activities Dr. Erik Rohde and our excellent string faculty, attendees will have a chance to participate in live workshops going through all of the required excerpts for string players for this year's Iowa All-State Festival. Following the instrument breakout sessions we will have a live Q and A and workshop discussing best practices for recording a video audition to submit to the All-State committee this year. After the live workshops on Saturday, October 3, 2020, registrants will receive access to pre-recorded practice videos that discuss further tips and techniques to working through the All-State excerpts. Join us for this unique, interactive, online event!

10:00 - 10:20: Welcome and introduction of UNI faculty clinicians
10:20 - 11:30: Live breakout sessions by instrument
11:30 - 12:15: Live Technology Workshop and Q and A

All registrants will receive a Zoom link a few days prior to the event to allow them to log-in live. In addition, all registrants will receive access to the additional workshop videos following the live workshop event. We will also make recorded versions of the opening welcome and the Technology Workshop available following the event for those who would like to view them again after the event is over.
